Boulder, Colorado and Taichung/Taipei , 5 Aug-16 Aug 2007 I flew off to US for a week of training for a specialised software for my project. Just came back last Thursday. It's my first trip to US. Quite mountain tortoise siah.. Took SQ flights to Los Angeles Airport then took a internal flight to Denver where we took a taxi to Boulder , Colorado. We reached our hotel at Monday morning 3am and slept for couple of hours before heading to our training location. First time experiencing jetlag. The feeling is like that where you have just completed a few rounds of mahjong overnight.. Totally zonked out. But then after the class, somehow we still manage to go shopping haha.. Boulder is a beautiful town, Very green. No pollution. About 5000 feets above sea level, very close to the mountain range. The view is scenic. I could live there forever ! haha. Alot of cyclists , runners. Heard that the world's best cyclist lives here! Good training area I supposed. Lotsa bike tracks. Left Boulder on Saturday afternoon. Reached Los Angeles Airport in the evening but was delayed at the airport. Los Angeles Airport immigration system failure causing the whole airport to be packed with passengers waiting to fly off. Reached Taipei on Monday morning then went straight to Taoyuan Station to take the High Speed Rail to Taichung. Will be there for 2 days. Went to Sun Moon Lake but weather was quite bad so the scenery wasn't very good. Then we travel back to Taipei on Wednesday.. Went to Dam Sui then Xin Beitou for some hot spring to relax ourselves . Overall, it was really a great experience for me! First time taking long flights to US.On hindsight, we should have stayed in LA for a few days instead of Taipei. I prefer Boulder(nice peaceful town) to Taiwan, really. Might be flying to New York in October for a conference. Keeping my finger crossed.. This time round, I will stay a couple of days in New York! With my colleagues.
